About

SLS Design Arts LLC is a Houston-based design practice focused on regenerative urban systems. We work at the intersection of architecture, infrastructure, and public health—reimagining existing structural frameworks as platforms for resilience, stabilization, and long-term civic continuity. We begin with what already exists.

Featured Project

Vine of Freedom

I-69 Montrose Underpass Node

A distributed stabilization infrastructure model integrating semi-permanent 3D-printed micro-housing, solar microgrids, moss bio-filtration panels, vertical green screens, workforce programming, and stormwater systems within the freeway column grid—without loading the TxDOT deck.

Design Principles

Adaptive Infrastructure
Work within existing structural systems—column grids, right-of-way, and shade.
Climate Performance
Energy-positive strategies, heat mitigation, stormwater retention, and air filtration.
Human Stabilization
Design for dignity, structure, safety, and transition—not warehousing.
Scalable Systems
Prototype locally. Replicate along corridors. Stitch the city back together.

Why This Matters

Houston does not lack land, sun, or structural capacity. The challenge is perspective. By reframing underutilized infrastructure as civic ground, we can build stabilization systems that evolve into resilient, self-sustaining neighborhoods.

Collaboration

SLS Design Arts LLC is seeking feasibility partnerships, pilot opportunities, and funding collaborations for distributed stabilization infrastructure in Houston.
